Sprint’s LTE coverage plans revealed

At the moment, only AT&T and Verizon have 4G LTE coverage in the US. However both T-Mobile and Sprint have announced plans for LTE coverage of their own too, and thanks to a coverage map outed at the RCA Expo (snagged by Sascha Segan of PCMag), it looks like we now have a better idea of where to expect Sprint’s LTE network to encompass when it does roll out. The green portion of the map is where the carrier’s LTE network will cover by 2014, and while a good portion of the blue areas on the map does not appear to have LTE coverage, it seems that these regions will have LTE roaming agreements in place with other carriers with LTE coverage in those areas, so no need to sign up for that extra contract just yet. In the mean time, the carrier has promised 14 LTE products by the end of the year and will no longer launch WiMax devices but will continue supporting existing devices until the device’s end of life.
