Swiss peripherals company Logitech has come up with something that Greenpeace activists as well as the general populace would fall in love with – the Solar Keyboard Folio. This unique accessory will not only offer protection to your precious iPad, it will also double up as a power source that can rely on the sun’s rays to keep it juiced. Definitely handy whenever you are out trekking in the great outdoors, don’t you think so? The Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio will come in an ultra-slim design that offers protection on both the front and back, and thanks to its built-in Bluetooth keyboard, you can also type away on your iPad just like a netbook, with power being drawn from the internal battery after being converted by its onboard solar cells.

Of course, pure sunlight is always the better option, but in case that is insufficient or it is a particularly cloudy day, then you can also charge up the Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio using indoor light. It is said that the keyboard is capable to last for up to 2 years (!) on a complete charge, even in total darkness. I do not want to run a benchmark to test it for such a lengthy time, but will just take Logitech’s word for it, although one would most probably never come across such a scenario in real life.

Expect the Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio to retail for $129.99 if you want one for yourself.
