Verizon logoIf you happen to own a Droid RAZR who is subscribed to Verizon’s network, then chances are by the time you read this, you would already have received a text message from your carrier that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be coming your way soon. The warning text message sent out did share concerns that the Verizon Wireless Mobile IM app is not going to function any more once the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update is applied, so in order to circumvent this particular issue, all you need to do is download a new instant messaging app after the update is applied. There you go, a no-brainer of a move. Just to make sure that we are on the same page, the text message from Verizon reads as follows, “Free Verizon Message: Your phone will soon be upgraded to Android 4.0. At that time we will remove your Verizon Wireless Mobile IM app because it is not supported in Android 4.0. Please download a new instant messaging app to use IM on your phone. Thank you for using Mobile IM!”
