LG Will Build Windows Phone 8 Phones ‘When There’s A Significant Market For It’

Ever since Nokia showed what Windows Phone 8 could do with its recent line of Lumia devices, a number of additional handset manufacturers have built their own WP8 devices. Companies like Samsung and HTC have built their own Windows Phone 8 devices, but LG has been on the fence whether or not they should get into the Windows Phone 8 game for some time now. Unfortunately, LG is reportedly not completely enthusiastic about building a Windows Phone 8 device.

According to an LG representative who spoke to CNET, they “want to give customers what they ask for,” and it doesn’t seem many LG consumers are clamoring for a Windows Phone 8 device at the moment. “When there’s a significant market for it, we will be on board.”

LG has been building a number of Android devices recently, and is even one of a handful of companies who are building phones running Mozilla’s Firefox mobile OS, which was just announced earlier today. We find it strange the company would jump to a completely new OS that has yet to be released instead of releasing a mobile device around Windows Phone 8.
