Up until Wednesday evening, I was playing the heck out of Gears of War: Judgment , but once BioShock Infinite has come into my life, I’ve been spending all of my time with the new hotness, but after hearing about today’s update, I might be splitting my time with both games this weekend.

Epic Games is partnering up with everyone’s favorite magazine geared towards men and their girlfriends, MAXIM, to deliver the game’s first add-on to include the return of one of the franchise’s most popular multiplayer modes, Execution, as well as a new multiplayer map called Haven. The add-on will be free to a limited time, so those of you who currently own Gears of War: Judgment need to jump on this add-on ASAP by downloading it directly from the dashboard or through as the in-game function is currently out-of-order.

Special playlists will also be available for both Haven and Execution within the game’s multiplayer mode and will offer players a 200% XP boost for a limited time, while VIP pass holders will receive a 300% XP boost within the VIP playlist. If that doesn’t entice you to play Gears of War: Judgment this weekend, we don’t know what will.

[Update: Epic Games confirmed the add-on will not be free for a limited time, although their press release was worded in a way where it seemed that was the case. The only portion of this story that was supposed to be for a limited time was the XP boost over Easter weekend.]
