sony05-590x442Have you ever wondered what it might be like to see through the eyes of your pet dog? Maybe see what it gets up to in the day while you’re at work, and to see the world from its perspective? No, we’re not talking about some sci-fi eye transplant technology here, but rather a more simple camera mount which has been announced by Sony. Dubbed the AKA-DM1, this is a camera mount that Sony has designed to be strapped onto dogs, although there are limitations, such as how the dog must weigh over 15 kilograms and have a belly circumference of between 50 to 80 centimeters.

Priced at $54 and available on the 26th of April in Japan, no word on when it will be available in other regions. We’re not sure why anyone would want to buy this for their pet, but perhaps researchers or scientists looking to document the behavior of animals might find a use for it. Personally I think having to go through footage strapped onto a highly mobile animal is just a  recipe for a headache.
