Foxconn Rumored To Be Interested In Making Their Own Branded Accessories

foxconn-plantFoxconn is the company responsible for piecing together Apple’s products like the iPhone and iPad, although it seems that due to their reliance on Apple, their revenue dropped by 19% following Apple’s decline in profit as well. So in order to start making back some of that money, an unnamed Foxconn executive shared with the folks at The Wall Street Journal that the company is looking to diversify its operations by adding new clients in a bid to reduce reliance on Apple.

According to the executive, Foxconn is apparently interested in supplying all the components required to assemble a product like the iPhone. As it stands, Apple sources components from a variety of manufacturers, such as Samsung and LG for its displays and so on, before passing them onto Foxconn who puts everything together.

The executive went on to state that Foxconn is also interested in selling their own brand of accessories, such as cables, headphones and keyboards that would be compatible with Apple’s iOS products. Considering their experience in building iOS devices, we wouldn’t be surprised if they used that to their advantage. What do you guys think?
