LinkedIn Status Updates Now Support Photos And Media Content

LinkedIn, a “professional social network,” has been doing a lot recently to up its game in the very competitive social network niche. Just last month it gave users the ability to strike up conversations by @ mentioning their connections any where on the network. Today LinkedIn has announced yet another change it is making, this time giving users the ability to share photos in status updates. This can already be done in Facebook, Twitter and even Google+ for that matter, but kudos to LinkedIn for bringing this feature, better late than never.

Its not stopping at just allowing photos in status updates. LinkedIn says that users will also be able to share other file types, such as presentations or documents. Rich media content and videos hosted on other sites can also be added by simply pasting the URL. As of now the network will only support content uploads done through the desktop website, though the uploaded content can be viewed inside LinkedIn’s mobile apps. Its probably only a matter of time before LinkedIn updates its mobile apps so that users can upload content in status updates from mobile devices as well.
