Microsoft Surface Pro And RT Firmware Receive Update

surface-pro-review--05The folks over at Microsoft must be mighty busy especially when you consider how they are preparing for a smashing public preview of Windows 8.1 later this coming June, but this does not mean that they do not have the time for other stuff – such as issuing minor firmware updates for its range of Surface tablets. In fact, today marks the day when Microsoft started to roll out the May updates for the Surface Pro, which happens to be powered by Windows 8 Pro, as well as the Surface RT that as its name suggests, runs on the Windows RT platform.

The Surface Pro update page saw Microsoft state that this particular update will include its fair share of improvements, especially when it concerns Wi-Fi connectivity and stability. There were basically no other details revealed there, although it is heartening to know that Microsoft has been putting in the relevant amount of effort in improving the WiFi functions of both the Surface Pro and Surface RT tablets ever since they were introduced to the world. Not only that, the update will also introduce the PXE boot feature that is found in the UEFI firmware. Both Surface Pro and Surface RT will also be on the receiving end of a new version of the Trackpad Settings driver.
