VIZIO M-Series Razor LED TV Available

vizio-xvt-seriesAt CES 2013, Vizio had announced and showed us their 2013 line of LED TVs and it looks like the M-Series Razor is finally available for those who are looking for a TV upgrade. In my opinion, this is a very nice upgrade from last year’s line-up since both the design and performance of the TVs have been improved. VIZIO is in the business of building products which have a great “bang for the buck”, and that’s why they have been successful. The company does not try to make the world’s thinnest TV or have the absolute best LED panel… However, it does try to source and use the best components, for the price.

I have checked these televisions in a demo room during CES 2013, and I have to admit that the visual quality and overall industrial design are high. The build quality is surprisingly solid too. Clearly, you can find thinner and better looking TVs, but VIZIO has been very smart with their design and simplified it as much as possible. The result is a good-looking TV, which is not meant to be a “piece of art” in your living room, but it certainly looks good enough to not think negatively about the design. You can throw the additional money into a size upgrade: the 80″ costs $4000, and the 55″ goes for $1200.

Of course, the VIZIO M-Series TVs are also smart TVs, and pretty good ones too: They can connect to all kinds of services like Hulu, Vudu, Netflix, Amazon Video and more.  Connectivity can happen with either WiFi or Ethernet. Since the TV market is one of the most competitive consumer electronics segment in the world, there is something to be said about a company that makes money in this space.
