playstation-all-stars-battle-royale-logo-featureThe other day we reported that the Sony PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale game would no longer receive any more DLCs in the future, and a recent post in the PlayStation forums has pretty much confirmed that. According to the forum post, it basically states that, “There will not be any new DLC characters or environments released for PS All Stars. We were proud to work with SuperBot Entertainment and they created a great game, but the characters that have already been released to-date represent the full content for PS All Stars.”

However on a brighter note, Sony will be releasing a balancing patch for the game and if released, would be making its way to gamers only in the fall. Sony will also be releasing some costumes for some of the characters that were previously only available as pre-order bonuses and includes third costume options for Dante, Raiden, Heihachi, and Big Daddy, along with Zeus + Isaac’s third costumes. All these costumes will be made free on the 27th of August, although Zeus + Isaac’s costumes will be made available later due to some back-end work required.

We’re sure some gamers are bummed that there will no longer be any DLCs released for the game, and we have to wonder at the future of the franchise as well. Is this it for Sony’s own take on Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros.? Or could we be looking at a sequel?
