Rumor has it that Nokia is in the process of rebuilding the camera app for its smartphones that are powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform. The company currently offers two separate apps called Nokia Smart Cam and Pro Cam. It is said that both of them are going to be discontinued in favor of one single app called “Nokia Camera,” which will contain all of the features that both of these apps offer. The app is likely to have a new user interface to choose Pro or Smart features.

Furthermore, it is said that not all Windows Phone powered Nokia Lumia smartphones will be able to access the Pro functions in the Nokia Camera app. Only a select few devices will have this privilege. The list of devices includes Nokia Lumia 920, 925, 928, 1020 and the unreleased 1520. Nokia is reportedly testing the app internally at this point in time. It is believed that the app will be bundled with Lumia 1520, Nokia’s first Windows Phone phablet, which is expected to be unveiled at the Nokia World event scheduled on October 22nd. Recent rumors suggest that apart from unveiling its first phablet, Nokia might unveil as many as five different devices at the event, which takes place in Abu Dhabi.
