Apple Reportedly Turns To Samsung For iPad Mini Retina Display Production

ipad-miniLast we heard, there were rumors that the iPad mini with Retina display’s shortage could potentially be attributed to Sharp whose low production yields was one of the reasons the tablet has yet to be launched, much to the disappointment of many would-be iPad mini customers out there. We had also heard that LG and Sharp were two of the suppliers that Apple used for the iPad mini with Retina display, but now we are hearing that in a bid to combat possible delays and shortages and to bring production up to speed, Apple will be turning to their rival, Samsung, to help manufacture the displays for its iPad mini.

Samsung has in the past provided Apple with display panels for its products, and successfully too, but due to the ongoing lawsuit between both companies, Apple has been said to be looking to reduce their reliance on the South Korean tech giant, instead turning to other manufacturers instead, or at least giving existing manufacturing partners more orders, and in this case we guess Apple turned to both LG and Sharp. There’s no telling if Apple turning to Samsung will be able to ease the shortages and improve production yield, but given Samsung’s size, there is no doubt that they will be able to deliver.
