It appears that Samsung is expanding its “mini” philosophy far beyond smartphones. The company is known for launching toned down variants of its flagship smartphones, but who would’ve thought it would do the same for its NX cameras. Pictures of a Samsung NX mini camera have leaked online, at first glance its immediately evident that its much smaller in size when compared to Samsung’s NX1000 and NX2000 cameras.

One can gather from the pictures that this camera doesn’t have the rotary dial on top that we’ve seen on other Samsung cameras for switching various modes. Not much is known about the specifications of Samsung NX mini, rumor has it that it may be powered by Tizen, like the NX300M camera which was launched last year.

Slides leaked alongside the camera’s pictures reveal that changeable mirrorless lens kits will be offered as well, alongside this new camera. Lenses will have different specifications, such as varying zoom capability and aperture size. It may also have a 2,330mAh battery allowing up to 682 photos on one charge as well as optical image stabilization.

According to the slides, the base model of Samsung NX mini is going to be sold for €499. Its possible that it may be announced tomorrow. Samsung Russia today did tease a “high-class” device that is due to be announced on March 19th. [Images via NXrumors]
