Titanfall’s Anti-Cheat System Will Force Cheaters To Play With Other Cheaters

mp_lobby0000When Titanfall was released, gamers quickly noticed a problem with the game and that is that there were plenty of cheaters on it. This is currently affecting the PC version of the game and it looks like Respawn Entertainment is finally doing something about it as they had previously promised.

Now the good news for cheaters is that they will not be banned. Instead it seems like Respawn will be collecting all the information they can on you and will be quarantining you instead of outright banning you. This sounds like a great idea, right? Maybe, maybe not.

For gamers who felt bad at getting caught and want to mend their ways, you might not get the chance to because you will be quarantined with other cheaters. What this means is that future Titanfall games you play with are with other cheaters who have been caught, which also means that you could end up in a game filled with cheaters using tools like aimbots.

In a Q&A on its website, it reads, “Great news: you get to keep playing Titanfall! Less-great news: you only get to play with other cheaters. You can play with other banned players in something that will resemble the Wimbledon of aimbot contests. Hopefully the aimbot cheat you paid for really is the best, or these all-cheater matches could be frustrating for you. Good luck.”

It should also be noted that if you play with your friends who aren’t cheaters, the game will automatically assume that everyone is a cheater and will be treated as such for that particular session, which means gamers won’t be able to get around it by joining with their non-tainted friends.

Respawn did not mention if this ban is permanent or temporary, but they did say that gamers could email them if they think that they’ve been banned unfairly. What do you guys think of this method? Good idea?
