Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls Shifts 2.7 Million Copies So Far, Digital And Physical Versions Combined

diablo-3-logoTo say that Blizzard is a successful games publishing company would be an understatement. An extremely toned down understatement, I might add. The company is well known for its fair number of meticulously crafted hits, and most of the time, these hit titles will continue from where it left off previously. Take the hack-and-slash dungeon crawler RPG for instance – Diablo has been keeping players on their toes against the forces of evil, first in Tristram all those years ago, until now with Diablo 3. In fact, Blizzard claims that Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls has sold more than 2.7 million digital as well as physical copies online and at retail stores to date.

Stopping Death is no mean feat at all, but it seems that Diablo 3 players have done that more than 1.5 million times – and counting, ever since Reaper of Souls launched on March 25th late last month. Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime shared, “With Reaper of Souls, we wanted to emphasize all the things that Diablo gamers have always loved about the series, from the dark gothic setting to the piles and piles of epic loot. We’re excited to see that players are enjoying the changes we’ve made to the game, and we look forward to achieving our Paragon levels alongside everyone else in the weeks and months ahead.”
