HTC has already confirmed Croyle’s plans to leave, although this particular move has been seen to be a long term transition, where he will continue to dabble with HTC product development in a consultancy role, at least in the next few months. As Croyle takes part in this transitional role, he will also look to delegate his entire set of responsibilities to the existing pool of talent over at HTC, where among the most important of the bunch would be to work on the sequel to the HTC One M8.
It goes without saying that Croyle’s second-in-command, Jonah Becker, would be the likeliest person to take over majority of his duties, before taking the next step in leading HTC’s San Francisco studio. Drew Bamford has seen a promotion to be in charge of all of HTC’s software and services – not bad at all, considering how he has been overseeing the Sense user experience prior.
