What makes it “smart” is the fact that there are electronics embedded into the bag itself, and in this case the bag comes with both mobile chargers and mobile storage, meaning that not only can your backpack help juice up your phone and tablets, but it will also allow you to transfer files without worrying that you might have forgotten your external HDD or flash drive that day.
According to its creators, the battery pack included in the bag will be good for two full phone charges, although they note that mileage might vary depending on your device. The batteries come with LED lights to indicate charging status, and is also apparently smart enough to know when your devices need charging, so you don’t have to worry about overcharging and draining the battery.
The components are all padded to ensure that they are damaged in day-to-day use, and will even come with a wall outlet cord inside the bag itself, so that you can easily juice up the battery pack without having to take it out. So how much will all of this cost you? Well there is an early bird special which is priced at $375 which is apparently $120 off the price when it is sold in stores.
It is admittedly pretty expensive, although when you think about the conveniences it offers, perhaps it could be a price worth paying, especially if you are the type that travels constantly and needs battery/storage while on the go, like a photographer, for example. If you’d like to learn more or pledge to the project, head on over to its Kickstarter page for the details.
