galaxy-note-3-review-10

The Verizon Galaxy Note 3 hasn’t been as lucky as the international variant or even those offered by other major U.S. carriers. Almost all of them have already released the KitKat update as of March. Though it looks like Big Red might finally be playing catch up today. It appears that the Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat update is rolling out today.

As of now it looks like the carrier is only rolling out the update through Samsung Kies software and the Verizon Upgrade Assistant. This means that you will have to hook up your Galaxy Note 3 to the computer and launch the appropriate software. It will scan for an upgrade and then automatically download and install once it finds that KitKat is available for the device.

This doesn’t mean that an over-the-air update won’t be rolled out. It may only be a matter of days before the Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 update is available over-the-air. Even then it wouldn’t go live for everyone at the same time. Since the release almost always takes place in stages, it will take a while before the update goes live across all regions.

All KitKat goodies come as part and parcel of this update, including but not limited to improved battery life and performance, subtle user interface tweaks and more.
