For the past year there has been an endless stream of rumors about the Apple iWatch. Even though the company has confirmed that it is going to enter into new product categories this year it hasn’t explicitly said if a smartwatch is on the cards. A new report published today claims that Taiwan’s Quanta Computer is going to start mass production of Apple’s smartwatch next month with a commercial release pegged for October.

Reuters hears from a source familiar with the matter that Apple’s smartwatch is going to have a display measuring 2.5-inches diagonally and being “slightly rectangular.” The watch face will reportedly protrude just a bit from the band and will create an arched shape, another source told the scribe. Wireless charging is said to be onboard. It is also said that the smartwatch, commonly referred to as the iWatch, is going to have a sensor that will monitor the user’s pulse.

LG is reported to be the exclusive display supplier at least for the initial batch of production. Quanta Computer is said to handle at least 70 percent of the iWatch’s total production.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard about the possibility of iWatch releasing this October. Multiple reports over the past couple of weeks have said the same, some even expect Apple to unveil it alongside the iPhone 6.

As always, Apple declined to comment on the report about its rumored smartwatch. We only have to wait for a few months, if it doesn’t come out this October, its going to be a tad bit harder to believe in these rumors anymore.
