German Nokia Lumia 930 Units Experiencing Screen Flickering

A few months ago, Nokia took the wraps off the Nokia Lumia 930 which is essentially the same phone as the Nokia Icon, a handset exclusive to Verizon’s network. So with the Nokia Lumia 930 making its way to different markets around the world, it seems that it could have run into a problem over in Germany.

According to several reports across the Nokia Support forums and the popular German Windows Phone forums, it seems that German Lumia 930 owners are experiencing screen flickering on their device. This is very apparent when their handsets are using 2G/Edge connectivity, instead of 3G.

Some have speculated that the problem could be due to the fact that 2G/Edge causes more electrical interference, and given that the Nokia Lumia 930 is a pretty thin handset that Nokia might have sacrificed some shielding to make it thinner. That and the fact that 2G/Edge is rarely used in developed countries, so perhaps Nokia wasn’t anticipating that issue to become so apparent.

In any case as it stands, it seems that the issue is limited to Germany. However given the fact that the Lumia 930 is an international handset, it is possible that other units around the world are experiencing the problem too. If you have, do let us know in the comments below. In the meantime you can check out the video above to see the flickering in action.
