oneplus-01The OnePlus One smartphone has remained pretty elusive so far, where it is even touted to arrive with a bamboo back plate that is set to ship next month. Most of us know that OnePlus One smartphones do run on a custom build of CyanogenMod 11, where this custom ROM is capable of delivering a mind boggling number of options for one to make the user interface bow down to your every whim and fancy.

Well, it seems that if you would like to enjoy the OnePlus One smartphone with a 100% pure Android feel, you will be able to do so now thanks to the release of the Android 4.4.4 KitKat ROM for the smartphone. This particular ROM release is not exactly the finest one rolled out with several known issues surrounding it, including an inconsistently working gyroscope, alongside the loss of encryption features and VPN, but at least it is a start to hopefully better things down the road.

For those who have the intestinal fortitude to continue with the Android 4.4.4 KitKat ROM installation, you will be able to download it here from the forum, just make sure you follow the instructions carefully, lest you end up bricking your brand new smartphone. Hopefully a more stable version will be released sooner rather than later.
