While Microsoft has its own mobile platform obviously not every Xbox One owner is going to have a Windows Phone device. This makes it crucial for Microsoft to support customers of its gaming console even if they’re on a rival platform. Today’s update for the Xbox One SmartGlass beta app for Android is definitely going to appeal to those customers. The app finally gets the ability to purchase games remotely, users can even purchase add-on content for games through the application.

The app also brings a handful of other changes. It allows users to like game clips or an item in their activity feed through their Android device. Users will also be able to view items that have been shared to them from a message.

Xbox One SmartGlass beta app also makes it easier for users to browse for recent and popular games as well as add-ons. If they like one they can purchase it straight away through the app itself. The app has also received general stability improvements and bug fixes in this update.

Xbox One SmartGlass beta app for Android is available as a free download from the Google Play Store. Some features may require a console update before users can take full advantage of them.
