Apple’s Plans For Mobile Payments And NFC “Confirmed” In New Report

apple_logoThere have been reports that the iPhone 6 could feature NFC. The technology is one that has long been debated as to whether it will ever make its debut in Apple’s iPhone, although recently leaked schematics and photos of the iPhone 6’s purported logic board have “confirmed” that NFC will be feature in the iPhone 6.

Well in case that wasn’t enough, the folks at Wired have recently heard from one of their sources who goes on to confirm and corroborate the earlier rumors that the iPhone 6 will indeed feature NFC technology. In fact the inclusion of NFC technology will be used for a mobile payment platform that has been long rumored to be in the works.

The idea of Apple creating their own mobile payment platform is not such a stretch. After all with iTunes, Apple has millions of credit cards and debit cards on file, which means that it would be pretty easy for Apple to link those credit cards to their mobile payment system. This means that customers won’t have to sign up for a new service or create a new account as everything would essentially be at their fingertips.

That and how Touch ID could be used as a means of ensuring secure payments will also go a long way in establishing customer confidence. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but it certainly sounds like the rumors of NFC and mobile payments are heating up so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see if Apple confirms them on the 9th of September.
