batman-arkham-knight-2As you might have heard yesterday, Batman Arkham Knight’s release date has been confirmed for a June release in 2015. The game has been initially announced for both next-gen consoles like the Sony PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, but unfortunately it seems that over in Japan, the game could end up being an exclusive for the PS4.

In fact at one point Microsoft’s Xbox website was playing host to the Japanese version of the game, but according to a report from Kotaku, it seems that they are no longer doing so. In fact the game’s official website only mentions the PlayStation 4 version and with no word regarding the Xbox One version.

When the folks at Game Watch Impress asked why the game had become a PS4 exclusive for Japan, they were told “no comment”. Now we should note that this could merely be a timed exclusive and that maybe the reason the game’s page was taken down was because Sony was supposed to have an exclusive for its marketing, like what they had with Destiny.

However assuming that this isn’t a timed exclusive, this isn’t the first time the Japanese Xbox One gamers have gotten the shorter end of the stick. Bungie’s Destiny was announced for Japan as a PlayStation exclusive which we’re sure gamers there can’t be too pleased about. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info, so do check back with us later for the details.
