We have seen our fair share of unboxing videos in the past. Heck, we’ve even made a couple of them ourselves, but here’s a rather interesting take – an unboxing video of a smartphone that takes place underwater! Now the smartphone that is being unboxed is the Sony Xperia Z3 which has an IP65/68 rating.

What this means is that the phone is able to withstand immersion in water, albeit not forever, but we suppose long enough for it to be unboxed which is what the folks at Carphone Warehouse did. However as we should point out, there are other components in the box that are not waterproof or water resistant, like the manuals, charger, and etc.

However if anything, it certainly does a good job at showing just how water resistant the Sony Xperia Z3 is, and it definitely makes for a rather interesting unboxing video. While the phone is water resistant, we have advise you that maybe this isn’t how you want to unbox your device when you get it, just to be safe.

The Sony Xperia Z3 has yet to make its way stateside and if T-Mobile’s estimates are correct, we can expect them in the coming weeks. Sony has also recently sent out invites for an event on the 9th of October in which many believe that the Xperia Z3 lineup for the US will be announced then.
