U2 Could Be Involved In The iPhone 6’s Launch [Rumor]

apple-and-musicAbout a week ago, we reported that Apple had begun construction on a temporary building at the Flint Center. Many were wondering what the building would be used for and some have speculated that it could be used as a hands-on area where journalists and the media could have a brief demo with the new products.

However according to recent reports, it seems that the building could be used as a stage in which the band U2 is expected to perform. U2’s involvement with Apple goes a long way back, although this would be the first time Apple would be getting them to perform at the iPhone’s launch. Additional reports from Reddit claim that U2 is preparing a commercial for the iPhone as well, with the music video expected to focus a lot on the iPhone.

U2’s involvement will reportedly not end there. MacRumors claims to have received a report from a tipster who revealed to them that it is possible that U2’s new album will come preloaded on the iPhone 6, which would be a first for Apple as they have typically disallowed apps, music, and videos from being preloaded onto their products.

Either way it does mark an interesting direction in which Apple appears to be headed. Could it be the result of Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre who are now part of Apple? We guess we will have to wait and see, but in the meantime how does the idea of a preloaded U2 album on your iPhone sound to you?
