lg-g3-screen

It was first rumored earlier this year that LG was working on a new handset which will be powered by the company’s new Odin chipset. Over the past few weeks there were several leaks regarding the LG G3 Screen, a new handset that is indeed powered by Odin. The company has formally announced this device in its native country and so far plans for international release have not been confirmed.

LG is calling the SoC or System-on-Chip Nuclun which has an octacore processor with four 1.5GHz ARM Cortex 15 cores and four 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A7 cores.

The LG G3 Screen has a 5.9-inch full HD IPS LCD display, a 13 megapixel rear camera with laser auto-focus and Optical Image Stabilization Plus, LTE-A Support, 2GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, Android 4.4 KitKat and a 3,000mAh battery.

A spokesman for the company has said that LG has not yet decided whether this device will be released in other countries around the world. In South Korea it is available exclusively through LG Uplus.

As far as LG’s plans for Nuclun are concerned the company is not confirming at this point whether it will power a flagship device next year with this SoC. It isn’t even confirming whether another device with its own SoC is going to be unveiled in the near future, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out.
