scrolls-mojangOne of Mojang’s greatest success stories would be the release of Minecraft that has made its way across many different platforms over the years ever since it hit the market. It can be a pretty tough act to follow, but like all things in life, we ought to move on – and who knows, we might end up with something better and more fun? Mojang has toyed with the idea of Scrolls for quite some time already, with Scrolls being a card battler title, and it looks set to be prepared for a release at long last.

While Scrolls has been made available in beta form since early June last year, it has yet to make its way to the long awaited version 1.0 that purists are looking for. According to Mojang’s very own Owen Hill, “The guesstimate is late November, but we’re not going to release it until it’s ready, if you know what I mean.”

I do agree with Hill – it is always better to release a particular title when it is ripe and ready, with all of the known bugs weeded out as much as possible, rather than to rush an entire project just to meet a particular deadline and to run into all sorts of issues and unhappy users at the end of it. Needless to say, there will be continued development on Scrolls apart from its full release, and Mojang claims that Microsoft is “super enthusiastic” concerning the project. Something tells me that Microsoft aren’t the only ones…
