Fans of the Halo franchise are undoubtedly eager to get their hands on Halo 5: Guardians which has been pegged for a release in 2015 and will be arriving exclusively on the Xbox One. Now we’re sure that gamers are curious as to the resolution and framerate that the game will offer upon its release.

Well according to the studio head for the game Josh Holmes who spoke to the folks at Eurogamer, it seems that the multiplayer beta version of the game has been set to 720p at 60fps. Granted it isn’t as sharp compared to a Full HD 1080p resolution, but the 60fps should mean that it will run rather smoothly.

However as Holmes notes, this is subject to change in the coming year, meaning that there is a chance that 343 Industries could bump the resolution to 1080p. Of course there is the alternative which is that they could simply keep it as it is, or they could end up sacrificing framerates for resolution, but just know that nothing is fixed for now.

According to Holmes, “So, for the beta, we’re going to be coming out at 720p and 60fps. That’s not the final resolution for the game. You can imagine as we go through the remainder of the project we’ll be focused on polishing the visual look of the game. You can expect it will look amazing when it comes out.”

The beta version of Halo 5: Guardians is expected to be accessible by gamers come 29th of December for those who might have bought Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The beta is also expected to last for three weeks, so if you want in on the beta, you’ll need to get The Master Chief Collection to get in on it which you can do so by heading on to the Halo website.
