final-fantasy-ps-4

There was a slip up on the Square Enix store earlier this week which brought to light the possibility that Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster may be released for the PlayStation 4 in the near future. The cover art for this title leaked through Square Enix Boutique which is the publisher’s online store for France. There was a Google Cache and everything which confirmed that this wasn’t a fake. An official announcement has come in now from the publisher. Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster is indeed being released for PS4.

The press release that Square Enix sent out today to confirm this news stated that this title was announced during an event for PlayStation in Shanghai. It merits mentioning here that Sony confirmed earlier today the release date for PS4 and PS Vita in China.

Square Enix also confirmed recently that Final Fantasy 7 will be released for PS4 next year. That title is simply a port of the version that’s been available on the PC. Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster will not be like that, it is going to have system-exclusive features when it launches.

The price for this title was also confirmed. Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster is going to cost $49.99. It is going to be released in spring 2015, presumably around the same time that Final Fantasy 7 for this console is released.
