android-5.0-lollipop

Many of Samsung’s high-end devices have started receiving the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop update so its only a matter of time before the company shifts its attention towards its mid-range offerings. Released last year, the Galaxy S5 mini is one such device, and word is that Samsung might start releasing Android 5.0 Lollipop for this smartphone in the second quarter of 2015.

The information comes straight from the company itself, Samsung France to be precise, which has revealed through Twitter that Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy S5 mini will start rolling out in Q2, 2015.

That’s as vague as a timeline can get. Samsung France isn’t providing a confirmed date yet and Q2 2015 is all that we have to go on right now.

Since it does give us a timeline if the company waits until the very end of the second quarter to release this update then we should expect it to arrive on or around June 30th, 2015.

Android 5.0 Lollipop brings many new features for supported devices, including but not limited to a complete visual overhaul courtesy of Material Design, the update also includes lockscreen notifications as well as many performance and stability related tweaks.

We’ll let you know if and when more information comes in regarding the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy S5 mini.
