Samsung Teases Fast Charging As One Of The Galaxy S6’s Features

samsung mwc chargingWhile power consumption is starting to become efficient in our smartphones and with battery sizes starting to grow, our phones do last longer, although for the most part they aren’t exactly like the feature phone back in the day where they could last for days on end. While we’re still waiting for batteries to offer us battery life that lasts for days, in the meantime we guess we’ll take the next best thing – fast charging.

Some companies such as Motorola have equipped their phones with fast charging technology, and it looks like Samsung could be next. A recent teaser video and images on Samsung’s Twitter account has revealed that Samsung could be planning a fast charge feature for its upcoming Galaxy S6 handset.

The tagline reads, “The faster I am, the more that gets done, and the more time I can give to others.” Granted that could hint at processor speed, but given the logo which shows a lightning bolt usually used to symbolize charging, we have good reason to think that Samsung could be hinting at the phone’s charging capabilities.

So far we have heard that the Galaxy S6 could pack a smaller 2,600mAh battery which is admittedly disappointing. However assuming that faster charging is one of the features, we guess it could make up for it. Other features that could make its way into the Galaxy S6 include wireless charging and a camera that does well in low-light. Either way we expect official information to be revealed come 1st of March 2015, so do check back with us then for all the details.
