xperiz-z3-lollipopSony did mention that they will begin to roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for their flagship Sony Xperia Z3 handsets some time in February – and that announcement was made in January. Well, now that we are full swing in March, nothing has happened so far – not at least until today, where the rollout has kicked off officially. Sure, it might have taken a good five months for Android 5.0 Lollipop to arrive since it was first announced, but hey – better late than never, don’t you think so?

This particular update will be making its way over to the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact first, starting in the Nordics and Baltics, before expanding further on to other markets in the weeks ahead. The firm had already mentioned that this update will also arrive on additional Xperia Z Series products down the road – and users of those products do not need to wait for too long, since it is touted to begin in approximately a couple of weeks’ time.

As for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, do expect it to come with its fair share of improvements including streamlined looks that are based on Google’s material design, and at the same time, retaining the minimalistic approach to interface and application design. One will also be greeted by a new look notifications and lock screen, where it comes complete with fully customizable settings, letting you obtain only the right information that you really require.
