Possible Next-Gen Moto 360 Stops By The Bluetooth SIG

moto-360-smartwatch-review-4Is Motorola working on a new version of its Moto 360 smartwatch? It stands to reason that they might, given that the original was very well received, not to mention Lenovo’s CEO had also recently teased possible prototypes before quickly deleting them from social media. That being said it looks like more evidence has surfaced hinting at the device’s existence.

It was recently spotted on the Bluetooth SIG’s website for a certain Motorola device with the model number BTMW03. What makes this so significant is the fact that last year’s Moto 360 was given the model number BTMW01, so the fact that this model is BTMW03 seems to suggest that we could be looking at a successor, or at the very least a variant since the closeness could also mean it won’t be too huge of a departure.

As Droid-Life notes, the last time the Moto 360’s availability was announced, it was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website a few days before, so with this sighting, could it be that we might be close to an official announcement? Google I/O is expected to kick off from the 28-29th of May which is only in a couple of weeks, so perhaps we will learn more about the new Moto 360 then.

Let’s not forget that Google had also recently promised that Google I/O will show off wearables that will blow our socks off, so we have to wonder if that includes the next-gen Moto 360, but either way stayed tuned to find out!
