axon_phoneA report from last month revealed that Chinese handset maker ZTE would be bringing a high-end smartphone to the US in the form of the ZTE Axon Phone. Back then not much was known about the phone, save for its design, its 4GB of RAM, and what appeared to be a dual-camera setup on the back.

However it seems that thanks to an update on the Axon Phone’s website (via PhoneArena), additional details of the upcoming handset has been revealed. Putting aside what we already know, the updated website revealed that the phone will have high-fidelity sound, claiming that it will be the first “true” high-fidelity phone to be made available in the US.

It will also sport twin microphones for better quality recording. The company is also boasting that the phone will sport a metallic body and a signature grill design, which we have to admit looks pretty good. The camera on the back of the phone is also capable of capturing video in 4K, although ZTE does not mention at what framerate since anything below 30fps would be a tad jerky.

In any case the handset will be officially announced on the 14th of July which is only in a few day’s time, so if the Axon Phone sounds like a phone you wouldn’t mind getting your hands on, do check back with us next week for all the details.
