Alleged iPhone 6s To Feature LTE Cat 6 Connectivity?

iphone6s-moboApple is definitely not a company that rests on its laurels – which is why it is far from surprising to hear of another upcoming model that will follow in the iPhone 3G tradition – that is, to add an “s” suffix at the end. We have had the iPhone 4s, the iPhone 5s, and obviously, the iPhone 6s just begs to be released. While nothing official has been revealed just yet, there has been a new leaked image of the motherboard of a device – where it allegedly belongs to the yet-unrevealed iPhone 6s (which the alleged chassis has also been spotted).

The leaked image does suggest that Apple will be making use of a brand new Qualcomm modem, where it will enable one to be able to enjoy LTE Cat.6 connectivity as and when required – and it will obviously do its bit to further reduce the amount of energy consumed.

One will be able to see the Qualcomm MDM9635M chip clearly on the motherboard, where it has been manufactured using the new 20nm process. This new manufacturing process will reduce the chip’s size, and the new modem is also known as 9X35 Gobi, where it can handle LTE Cat.6 connectivity when called upon – theoretically delivering 300Mbps download and 50Mpbs upload speeds, but in real life, we know that this is not going to happen due to bottlenecks here and there.

Do expect the iPhone 6s as well as the iPhone 6s Plus to become official some time in September later this year, alongside Force Touch capability.
