silent_hills_2A few months ago, Konami announced that they will be removing P.T. from the PlayStation Store. However for those who had already downloaded the game, they could essentially keep it and keep playing it for as long as they wanted. However there have been a recent spate of rumors that suggested that Konami was actually deleting copies of the game from the consoles of gamers.

Thankfully it appears that the rumors are only just rumors. Konami has since refuted those claims in a statement made to VG247. According to the company, they claimed that they have not deleted copies of the game since there is no system in place that would allow Konami, Sony, or any developer to actually delete content from a console remotely.

Instead the publisher is suggesting that gamers who have discovered the game missing on their console have probably accidentally deleted it themselves, and if that is true, that is quite unfortunate since there is no way of downloading it again. In fact there was a brief point in time where PS4 consoles with P.T. installed were being sold on eBay for $1,500.

This comes on the heels of the reports that the game’s director, Hideo Kojima, would be leaving Konami which eventually led to the upcoming Silent Hill game, which P.T. was based on, to be cancelled.
