Yesterday we reported that LG had launched an Android-powered flip phone by the name of the LG Gentle. However it seems that Samsung has decided that they don’t want LG to have all the flip phone fun as they themselves have recently announced their own flip phone, the Samsung Galaxy Folder.
As you can see in the photo above, the Samsung Galaxy Folder is nothing to shout about in terms of design, but then again most flip phones these days aren’t exactly looking to win any design awards to begin with, but despite that there are still markets in which flip phones are still popular, such as South Korea, China, and Japan.
That being said, what kind of specs has Samsung managed to pack under the hood of the Galaxy Folder? For starters there’s not much to talk about. It will feature a 3.8-inch touchscreen display and will sport an 8MP rear-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.2 which is actually pretty decent.
Its front-facing camera is of the 2MP variety. It will also come with 8GB of storage and a 1,800mAh battery which while it is admittedly small, the phone isn’t exactly powerful enough where it will drain the entire battery that quickly. Pricing is unknown but we doubt it will be too expensive and it is expected to go on sale in South Korea starting next month.
