fire_phone_stockAmazon’s Fire Phone was a brave attempt by the company to break into the smartphone market. The company had successfully broken into the Android tablet market with the Kindle Fire tablets, but unfortunately that success did not follow the Fire Phone. Unfortunately it seems that if you wanted to get your hands on the device, you’d be out of luck.

As noticed by GeekWire, the Fire Phone’s product page states that it is currently unavailable, and that there is no telling when the product will be restocked. This was confirmed by an Amazon spokeswoman who claims that the company has since exhausted its inventory of Fire Phones in the US towards the end of August last month.

However there was no confirmation as to whether or not the phone will be restocked which is a more important question. After all over the past few months we’ve seen Amazon slash the prices of the Fire Phone where it went down to as low as $130 which was actually just last month. It is possible that maybe Amazon was having a fire sale to get rid of inventory, or it could be that the price was drove customers to purchase it thus causing stock to run out.

Either way with the Fire Phone not exactly being a commercial hit and with reports that Amazon could be thinking of giving up on smartphones, we wouldn’t be surprised if it isn’t restocked, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled anyway.
