Earlier today we had brought word that thanks to a rumor, we now know the list of alleged HTC devices that will receive the Android 6.0 update. In case you weren’t fully convinced or wanted more official confirmation, you’re in luck because HTC themselves have since come forward with an official list.
As you can see in the list above, these devices are more or less what was reported from before. The list of handsets that will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow includes the HTC One M9, HTC One M8, HTC One M9+, HTC One E9+, HTC One E9, HTC One ME, HTC One E8, HTC One M8 EYE, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820, and the HTC Desire 816.
As you can tell, these are devices launched by HTC back in 2014 and in 2015. It also appears that devices older than that have been left off this list, at least for now. We’re not sure if this list is set in stone or if it is just a list of devices that will receive it first, but hopefully for older HTC owners, you guys won’t be left out.
No specific dates on when the update will be released, but it will begin before the end of the year. HTC did mention that the One M9 and One M8 will get theirs at the beginning of the end of 2015, suggesting that it might be a little later than the rest, although we suppose this will also largely depend on carriers and when they will get around to approving it.
