LG G5 Rumored To Sport Snapdragon 820 Chipset

lg-g4-industrial-design-09If the rumors are to be believed, Samsung could be looking to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset in their 2016 Galaxy S7, or at the very least they are testing it out. Given that LG competes with Samsung very fiercely in the mobile space (and other industries), we suppose it doesn’t come as a surprise that they won’t let Samsung hog all the glory.

According to a new rumor, it has been suggested that the LG G5 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset under the hood. This is actually an interesting leap considering that this year’s LG G4 came with a Snapdragon 808 chipset versus the Snapdragon 810, which some have speculated might be due to heat concerns.

It is unclear why LG chose the Snapdragon 808 when the LG G Flex 2 used the Snapdragon 810, but either way for LG fans, the company will not be holding back for its 2016 flagship, or so the rumors claim. Other alleged specs of the LG G5 includes a 20MP 1/2-inch sensor made by Sony which will be an upgrade over the 16MP in the LG G4.

Of course megapixels don’t guarantee good photos but at the same time, photographers who want to crop their photos without losing too much detail will be pleased by the upgrade. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but so far it seems like the LG G5 is shaping up rather nicely.
