Apple has launched a new Quality Program under which it’s going to fix anti-reflective coating issues that are likely to arise on MacBook and MacBook Pro models that have Retina displays. The anti-reflective coating on these displays can delaminate or wear off in certain conditions, the result is not something that users would want to live with, hence the need to launch this new program.

Under this Quality Program Apple is going to replace the Retina display on an affected MacBook or MacBook Pro model absolutely free within three years of the original date of purchase, or one year from October 16th, 2015, whichever is longer. Customers who may have already paid out-of-warranty costs to get their notebook fixed may be eligible for a refund via AppleCare support.

Customers who are facing this issue can book an appointment with a Genius Bar or go to an Apple Authorized Service Provider to find out whether their MacBook is eligible for a replacement. Apple has launched this program rather quietly and it’s not expected to make much of a fuss about it in public, but nevertheless it’s going to entertain affected users.

It’s not new for Apple to launch a Quality Program, the company has launched such programs in the past to fix common problems identified by its engineers, and from the feedback available online the anti-reflective coating issue appears to be common for thousands of users across the globe.
