vivo_1Vivo might not necessarily be a company that many think of when it comes to smartphones, although they do deserve some of the credit especially since they were one of the first few OEMs to introduce a smartphone with a QHD display. That being said according to the latest reports, the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone could be worth keeping an eye out for.

According to the report, it has been suggested that Vivo could be borrowing a page from Samsung and introducing a smartphone with a curved edge display. As you can see in the image above, that is one of the few images that Vivo had posted onto its Weibo account in China, showing off a phone whose display is curved at the edges.

It is unclear as to whether the curved display will have any functionality like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, or if it is merely for aesthetics, but we’re hoping that it is the former. It would seem that while the curved display might have been a novelty at the start, companies are starting to see potential for its use.

Even the folks at BlackBerry have introduced a similar design to the BlackBerry Priv. Granted it doesn’t have the same features as the Galaxy S6 Edge+, but the curved edge is used to a certain degree. It’s odd that Vivo would unveil the design so early, but that being said apart from the design, not much else is known about the phone so do check back with us later for the details.
