get_it_digitalWhen it comes to purchasing goods online, you have the option of buying them through the official channels, or you could also go through authorized third-party sellers. However for those of you who love a good deal, sometimes looking on websites like eBay can yield really low prices although sometimes this is because they are grey market products.

Now grey markets for cameras have been around for a long time but it looks like Canon has officially had enough of them. So much so that it looks like Canon has decided to file lawsuits against several online camera sellers, one of them being Get It Digital who are known for offering some of the lowest prices as far as Nikon and Canon cameras are concerned.

Canon is attempting to stop these companies from selling grey market Canon products and other products in the US. They claim that because they hold the exclusive license for the US market, these companies should not be allowed to sell their products. Like we said, such sellers have been operating for quite a while now, but there are several concerns that Canon has raised.

This includes using counterfeit serial numbers of gray market imports, a lack of enforceable warranties or poor warranty coverage, inaccurate packaging for products, cheap photocopies of operating manuals, along with the inclusion of power supplies and accessories that are either fake or not compliant with local laws, regulations, and certifications.
