Entry-level Samsung Activity Tracker In The Works [Rumor]

samsung-gear-fit-03There are plenty of wearables out there today. You have your pick from more specific wearables like fitness trackers, to more broad wearables like smartwatches. Now if you’re more interested in a wearable for tracking your daily activity, you might be interested to learn that Samsung could have one up their sleeves.

According to a report from SamMobile, they have heard from a source that Samsung could have a new activity tracker in the works. Dubbed the SM-R150, this is supposed to be an entry-level model, thus allowing customers to get their hands on one without having to spend too much money on more expensive options.

Unfortunately apart from the model number and that it might be an entry-level device, not much else is known about the tracker. It has been suggested that it might not even feature a heart rate tracker which might be a bummer for some users. Samsung has released multiple wearables in the past, like the Gear S2 that was launched earlier this year.

The company even launched the Gear Fit last year which was supposed to be their fitness tracker. No word on pricing just yet, but given that Xiaomi recently launched the Mi Band 1S which is priced at $15 and even features a heart rate sensor, safe to say that Samsung has some serious competition.
