ION Belt Offers A Creative Charging Alternative

If there is one thing that road warriors would like to have, it would be a virtually inexhaustible battery, or perhaps a battery that can last so long, charging it up is a process that happens far and few in between. The ION Belt might not be a long lasting battery, but it seems that this is a unique portable battery/charger device that also doubles up as a belt – hence the name. After all, since many of us happen to wear belts to work, and accessorize our pants with one, why not throw in an additional function, right?

The ION Belt is looking to raise funds on Kickstarter, where it has a rather amusing tag-line that goes, “POWER IS THE ULTIMATE ACCESSORY”, while carrying the promise of “Never get caught with your pants down again!” The ION Belt is basically a 3,000 mAh battery/charger combo belt that will see the belt buckle double up as the power input plug, while the other end of the belt will carry a USB out port which allows you to juice up tired batteries.

The amount of juice it carries would be 3,000 mAh, which should be adequate for at least one full charge on a modern day smartphone, and the $130 asking price might not be that attractive for bargain hunters.
