Microsoft CFO: Business Phone Is Still On The Way

microsoft__logoSeveral months ago Microsoft announced their plans for upcoming phones. At that time the company planned to launch devices aimed at enthusiasts, business users, and the low-end segment. So far the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL appear to cover the enthusiast segment, and the rumored Lumia 650 should cover the low-end segment as well.

That just leaves the business segment. For those wondering if Microsoft still has plans to launch devices aimed for the business user, you will be pleased to learn that everything is still on track. This was confirmed by Microsoft’s CFO Amy Hood during the UBS Global Technology Conference earlier this week.

According to Hood, she was quoted as saying, “We launched a [Lumia] 950 and a 950 XL. They’re premium products, at the premium end of the market, made for Windows fans. And we’ll have a business phone, as well.” Unfortunately details of Microsoft’s business phone still remains somewhat of a mystery for now.

However there have been reports of a Surface phone being sighted on benchmarks. The device was rumored to be a Microsoft flagship, but with the launch of the Lumia 950/950 XL, it is possible that this Surface phone could be aimed at the business user instead. This is just speculation on our part but either way we’ll have to wait for Microsoft’s official announcement, whenever that is.
