oneplus-on-guard

Most people like to purchase additional protection for their mobile devices, it can be in the form of a case or skin, many also opt for extended warranty and insurance plans that cover breakage and accidental damage which could cost a pretty penny to fix. OnePlus has launched such a plan for its smartphones, On-Guard is a new insurance plan that it has put together from simplesurance, it’s currently being offered for the OnePlus 2 and will soon be expanded to cover the newly announced OnePlus X as well.

OnePlus has partnered with simplesurance to provide this insurance plan, for now it’s only available to customers in Europe, the company has not announced such a plan as yet for customers in North America but it’s working with a partner to launch a similar plan for this region in the near future.

On-Guard insurance for OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X is going to cover breakage including but not limited to a broken screen, damage due to dropping the device, accidental damage, even “vandalism.”

To be eligible to purchase On-Guard insurance the smartphone must have been purchased via EU stores on oneplus.net, in a move that’s going to disappoint a lot of people who have already purchased the OnePlus 2, this insurance plan is not being offered to those who already have a OnePlus 2 handset.

On-Guard coverage for OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X costs €39.99 for 12 months and €64.99 for 24 months, it can easily be purchased online.
