If you enjoyed paying $30 a month for unlimited data, you might be interested to learn that Verizon will be hiking up the price of its unlimited data plan by $20. The carrier had actually announced this last month but for those who are hearing it for the first time, this is a friendly reminder to you all.

The carrier has also recently started to notify its customers by prompting them with a huge pop-up (see screenshot above) whenever they log into their online account page. The pop-up should serve as a sufficient reminder that the new rates are expected to go into effect on the 15th of November.

This effectively means that after that date, you can expect to start paying $50 a month in order to reap the rewards of using Verizon’s unlimited data plan. Take note that not all customers are affected by this price hike. If you are currently signed to a 2-year contract with the carrier, then you can rest assured that this price hike will not affect you.

However for those who are still going about on a month-to-month basis, then yes this price hike will affect you, although by entering into a 2-year contract will help you get around it. This is effective come 15th November so if you’d rather not pay the extra $20, you have 6 days left to decide what to do about it.
